CAPABLE OFF-ROAD PERFORMANCE

Take on the Trails: When the road is challenging, the new KLX230R S is ready with long wheel travel and ample ground clearance. The great performance of the tried-and-true engine has been augmented with a balancer for an even more enjoyable and useful off-road machine, and a larger fuel tank means more time on the trail between fill-ups.

• ENGINE - 233 cc Fuel-Injected Engine with Improved Low-Mid Range and Balancer: The KLX230R S’s updated engine offers more low- to mid-range torque for low-speed control, resulting in a rider-friendly engine character and linear acceleration. This combined with the low-speed feeling makes this play bike even more fun than before.
• SUSPENSION & WHEELS - Long-Travel Suspension with Large-Diameter 21”/18” Wheels: Ample wheel travel is available at the at the front and rear thanks to an ideally suited suspension, while large-diameter aluminium wheels, measuring 21” at the front and 18” at the rear efficiently navigate trails—a combination that greatly contributes to trail-riding performance.
• FUEL TANK - Larger Capacity Fuel Tank: A 7.6 litre fuel tank (compared to the previous model’s 6.6 litres) adds more range and allows longer intervals between refuelling for more fun riding time. The fuel tank also features a key-operated tank cap.
• RIDER TRIANGLE - Riding Position Fine-Tuned for Control: Handlebar and footpeg placement were also revised, with the handlebar 25 mm farther forward and 13 mm higher, while the footpegs move 9 mm rearward. The new handle position facilitates rider inputs into the bars, with the enhanced controllability contributing to confidence when cornering.

COMPACT, LIGHTWEIGHT, MANOEUVRABLE

Off-Road Enjoyment for a Wide Range of Riders: Providing a light, manoeuvrable package has been a key consideration since the KLX230R was originally designed. Its simple air-cooled engine and easy handling perimeter frame contribute to a compact package, while the balance between the engine and frame results in performance that can be enjoyed by a wide range of riders.

• FRAME - Compact Perimeter Frame: Designed from the start for dirt-riding use, the high-tensile steel perimeter frame offers the handling stability needed for confident trail riding. For 2025, a newly designed rear subframe makes it possible to maintain the long wheel travel while offering a lower seat height.
• SEAT HEIGHT - Lower Seat Height for Greater Approachability : Thanks to its improved rear subframe, the KLX230R S’s seat height is 25 mm lower, (875 mm compared to 900 mm on its predecessor), making the machine easier to handle and adding confidence when riding off-road, suiting it well to a wider range of riders.
• ACCESSORY SEAT - Thicker and Wider for Increased Comfort: The accessory mono-tone high seat offers thicker urethane (+14 mm vs the low seat) with a wider shape for a more comfortable ride, while retaining a flat silhouette that contributes to rider freedom of movement, resulting in a very comfortable yet highly functional seat for off-road riding.
• STYLING - Aggressive & Agile KX Styling with Smooth-Design Bodywork: Styled after Kawasaki’s cutting-edge KX motocross racers, the new KLX230R S looks like a serious off-road machine. Its flat design flows from head to tail, creating a sense of unity and a sharp overall look. The smooth bodywork was designed to have as few protruding parts as possible to facilitate moving around, contributing to excellent ergonomics. Race-inspired colours and graphics complemented by black alumite rims contribute to the machine’s sporty character.
