Interpretation in these rules:

SCM means Sydney City Motorcycles Pty. Ltd. (ACN 092 896 350) trading as “Sydney City Motorcycles Rider’s Club”.Member means a person whose name appears on the register of members referred to in clause 2.2 Club means the Sydney City Motorcycles Rider’s Club of Sydney.

 Membership

2.1 An owner of a motorcycle purchased from SCM, or a graduate of Stay Upright Motorcycle Techniques may apply to SCM to become a member of the Club.

Applications must be made on the application form prescribed by SCM and must be accompanied by the current membership fee.

2.1a A person purchasing a motorcycle from SCM, or a Stay Upright Motorcycle Techniques graduate will be provided membership to the Club at no cost for the first 12 months of application for membership approval.

After that 12 month period, those members may renew their membership at the set renewal rate.

2.2 SCM will notify applicants who are accepted for membership of the Club, and their names will be entered on the register of members. SCM may remove a person’s name from the register of members for nonpayment of due membership fees, misconduct or conduct which in the opinion of SCM may have a detrimental affect on the reputation of the Club, SCM or Stay Upright Motorcycle Techniques.

Fees
Members must pay the annual membership renewal fees prescribed from time to time.

Benefits
4.1 Members will be entitled to various benefits made available by SCM through the Club from time to time.

SCM will notify members of benefits that are available or become available through the Club newsletter or the SCM website.

4.2 SCM reserves the right to vary or withdraw any of the benefits made available to members.

Members’ claims are limited to a refund of any current membership fees paid by any such member.

Ride days
5.1 The Club may from time to time convene meetings and/or rides of the members, but it is not obliged to do so.

5.2 No member may participate in Club ride days, and be at the operational control of a vehicle, without having and/or providing proof of owning, a license for the vehicle for which that license is issued.

5.3 SCM and the Club will not be responsible for any occurrence leading to injury, death, or result in fines, loss of license, or damage to a member’s self or property prior to, during, or after scheduled ride days.

5.4 SCM may arrange that marshals of the Club be appointed at meetings/rides of the members. Marshals so appointed are not authorized to bind SCM or the Club in any respect.

Termination
SCM may terminate the activities of the Club at any time.

Amendment
SCM may amend these rules at any time without notice to it's members.

Notices
A notice given by the Club to a member may be given by post and will be taken to be received on the third day after posting. Notices to members will be taken to be validly given if sent to the address specified in the member’s application for membership or any alternative address subsequently notified by the member to the Club in writing.

Assignment
The Club may assign its rights under these rules to another person without notice to the members.

These rules have an effect from March 1st, 2005.
